So finally India have lived up to the expectations of everyone and have steamrolled their way into the Finals of the Champions Trophy 2k17. India had started the tournament as favorites and had won games with full authority before they met SriLanka in the 2nd match of the group stage. It was a hiccup required for Team India to get back on track and not to go with the flow. They always had a good bunch of 11 players who could do wonders but sometimes you have to abide by the fact that opposition played really well and you were not up to the mark on that day.

INDIA VS SOUTH AFRICA:

Now before the tournament had started who would have thought that India and South Africa will play a do or die game and whosoever wins will make it to the Semi-finals but such is the beauty of the game that you cannot predict anything until the last bowl has been bowled. Both India and South Africa were an equally matched side but once again Africa could not handle the pressure of a knockout match and they certainly proved that why they are called chokers. They had dug a pit for themselves by gifting 3 wickets in the form of run outs to the opposition and a team like India are always in search of such moments. From there on India bowlers took the charge and bowled out Africa to a very small total which was easily chased by the in-form top order of Indian Batting Lineup. Certainly, South Africa started as contenders but at the end, they were mere pretenders.

INDIA VS BANGLADESH:

Here comes the big semifinal against Bangladesh. Whenever we play against them every Indian remembers that 2007 WC moment where we lost to them in a group stage match in West Indies. Indian team was certainly the favorites for the semis and they played like they are the champions. Chasing a mere total of 265 India got off to a brilliant start. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma played each bowl on its merit and dispatched them every time the got a chance to do so. Rohit Sharma played all types of shot and each shot he played was looking better than the previous one and he certainly proved that why selectors had shown so much confidence in him and his talent. Along with Rohit, Shikhar on the opposite end showed pulls and hooks and the practice which he had done against short balls had certainly paid off. When Taskin was bowling short balls to him, he was very comfortable in playing them which showed his confidence in himself and also displayed the kind of form he has been throughout the tournament. His legs were moving quickly, he was able to judge the ball and he certainly proved his selection in the team. After Shikhar got out, chase master came in who looked as if he had come already set from the dressing room and is just taking off from where he had left 2 days back. His straight drives and cover drives were perfect and the way he paced his innings definitely proved why he is called the Best Batsman of the present era. But between all this, we all have to applaud the effort of India bowlers who bowled beautifully to restrict Bangladesh to a small total on a very flat deck. Bumrah and Bhuvi bowled beautifully at the death, the spinners were spot on apart from that phase when Tamim and Mushfiqur were batting. That was the only phase when Indian bowlers looked on the back foot and they certainly came back strongly after the brilliant effort from Kedar Jadhav When Pandya was leaking runs everyone thought who would complete the quota of a 5th bowler but kohli along with some advice from Dhoni showed faith in Jadhav and what did he do. He got both the set batsman out and at one point of time he was bowling as if he was playing tennis Bowl cricket . The angle with which he was bowling troubled Tamim a lot and in the end he was outclassed by the streak smart thinking of Kedar Jadhav. So at the end it was a clinical performance by team India and on Sunday when they will meet Pakistan in the finals they will certainly start as favorites .Also they have a golden chance to become the only team after Australia to be able to defend Champions Trophy.
